POLYSTAR – full speed ahead in India’s recycling market
Plast India 2018 saw a record number of visitors with great emphasis on recycling. POLYSTAR, one of the leading manufacturers of recycling machine had an excellent area coverage of over 150 square meter with two recycling machines on display: Repro-One and Repro-Air.
India is one of the largest raffia producers in the world and therefore has a large demand for raffia recycling. In general, 8% of production waste is generated during the process (from tape line production, looming and printing). The price of raw material is almost doubled comparing to the cost of having it recycled in-house. It would make sense for medium and large-sized Indian producers (who generate more than 30~40 tones of scraps per month or more) to recycle the production waste internally to reduce production cost.
Repro one is ideally suited for in-house producers of PP/PE raffia, rigid plastics, PE plastic film and nonwoven. It has an integrated shredder, which allows direct feeding of high strength raffia, film, rigid plastics and even lumps (purge) without the need of cutting or pre-crushing before feeding. The Repro-One is equipped with a high sensitive metal detector, dual piston (two-channel) screen changer and degassing section with vacuum pump. The machine has indicators and alarms with high automation to ensure easy operation of the machine. It has best-in-class power consumption with energy efficient motors.
The uniform high quality pellets ensure easy reuse back again in the production process for raffia, film, nonwoven, injection and blow molding applications. During the PlastIndia exhibition, POLYSTAR had live demo twice a day for recycling PP FIBC scraps, raffia and Ad*Star block bottom heavily printed bags. The machine generated great interest among visitors with multiple orders booked during the show. The reusability of the PP recycled pellets is particularly high with POLYSTAR’s recycling machines, producers can use 20% up to 100% recycled pellets back into the production line depending on the final product requirement.
The Repro-Air provides a simple and economic solution for HDPE/LDPE mono and multilayer blown film and cast film, bag making producers to recycle their in-house generated waste, with and average of 50kg/hr and up to 1 ton per day capacity. It is a highly compact machine with no requirement of water and works on air cooled pelletizing system. The machine can fit in a small space near the production machine and produce high quality recycled pellets from the process waste generated. The recycled pellets can be directly reused easily in the plant to produce high quality film without any processing problems.
India has been one of the most important markets for POLYSTAR and has shown tremendous growth in the past three years. More than 40 installations have been carried out for both post-industrial and post-consumer applications in the raffia film, nonwoven and plastic sectors.
Plastindia was an excellent platform to meet prospective and existing customers and showcase the latest technology in recycling. We foresee even higher growth and requirement of good quality recycling machines in the region in the coming years. POLYSTAR has a great future ahead in the Indian market with further growth in the per capita consumption of plastics and especially due to the requirement of excellent quality recycling machines which save electricity, manpower and running costs while producing the best-in-class recycled pellets. Most importantly, the machine is extremely simple to use, has a low maintenance requirement, easy change of consumable spare parts, which brings high values to the users.
